Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics Join CTIA Wireless 2009







Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have put out their latest versions of cellular phones in an effort to cement top positions in the North American market, a fierce global battlefield for cutting-edge handset producers.

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics released various high-end mobile phones including a full-touch message phone at the ‘Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association (CTIA) Wireless 2009’, America’s biggest wireless annual event to be held in Las Vegas on April 1-3.

Samsung Electronics has been holding No.1 market share in North America from Q3 last year, and LG Electronics held 2nd ranking in Q4 last year, outpacing the dominant handset maker Motorola.

Samsung Electronics is to primarily exhibit diverse full touch-screen phones to be launched through four U.S. communications operators -- AT&T;, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

Along with this, Samsung Electronics also plans to introduce its solar energy phone ‘Blue Earth’ by separately setting up an eco corner under the theme of ‘The Blue Earth Dream’, a corporate eco-friendly campaign underway.

LG Electronics is to also solidify is its No.2 position, unveiling 20 types of cellular phones including messaging phones and smart phones together with the next-generation mobile communications technology.

In an attempt to pioneer into the messaging phone market, the current core trend in the North American handset market, LG Electronics is to exhibit a full touch messaging phone Xenon and a messaging phone Neon.
