[오승연 박사 연예뉴스 영어로 따라잡기]‘사랑해, 울지마’ 동시간대 연속극 중 시청률 1위

MBC 일일연속극 ‘사랑해, 울지마’(박정란 극본, 김사현, 이동윤 연출)가 수도권 기준으로 동시간대 최고 시청률과 자체최고 시청률을 동시에 기록했다. 시청률조사전문기관 TNS미디어 코리아에 따르면 지난해 11월 한 자리수 시청률로 스타트를 끊은 ‘사랑해, 울지마’는 3개월 만에 꾸준한 상승세를 바탕으로 지난 12일 방송분에서 드디어 자체 최고 시청률 17.3%(수도권 집계 기준)로 동시간대 1위를 기록하는 영광을 안았다.

MBC 측은 “동시간대 1위는 MBC 일일극이 8시대로 시간을 옮긴 2008년 5월 이후 처음이다. 또 8시대에서 방송된 MBC 프로그램의 KBS 일일극 시청률역전은 07년 1월 4주에서 5주까지 ‘거침없이 하이킥’이 KBS ‘하늘만큼 땅만큼’ 첫 1∼2주간 소폭의 차로 역전한 이후로 2년 만이다”라고 의의를 설명했다.

MBC’s daily drama ‘I Love You, Don’t Cry’ has posted the highest viewership in Seoul and the area around the capital among programs that are aired at the same time, and has also recorded the highest viewership among MBC dramas. According to TNS Media Korea, a viewership survey company, ‘I Love You, Don’t Cry’ started off with a single digit viewership last November, but in just three months on January 12th, it has recorded a viewership of 17.3% in Seoul and the suburban area, topping the list among programs aired during the same time.

MBC says, “This is the first time our daily drama ranked first place in terms of viewership since we changed the time of the dramas to 8 p.m. in May 2008. And this is also the first time we recorded a higher viewership than KBS’s daily drama since MBC’s ‘High Kick’ marked a higher viewership than KBS’s ‘As Much as the Sky, the Earth.’ by a small margin for two weeks in January 2007.”
