(42) Dynamics of Life Path

By Janet Shin

From this week, we are going to review combination, assembly, clashing and penalty of saju, bazi letters.

Before we get into the details, let's see a saju of a woman first.

She was born on November 28, 1967 (year of the sheep) and died on Febrary 9, 2007. She was known under the stage name of Anna Nicole Smith, American model, sex symbol, actress and television personality. She first gained popularity when she appeared in Playboy. Then she had a highly publicized marriage to an oil business executive and billionaire, 63 years her senior in 1994. Following his death in 1995 (year of eul-hae), she began a lengthy legal battle over her share of his estate. In 2006 (year of byeong-sul), her son, Daniel Smith was found dead as a result of a drug overdose.

Her day master is byeong fire and she is like sun born in month of cold water. She may shine and be recognized by others as the sun is always welcomed, especially by the energy of cold water.

However, we can tell that she would be lonely by the surroundings of the day master. Sin metal, her month stem is her money star. Byeong and sin are compatible with each other as we study the stem combination today. Regardless of being respectful or not, she would always pursue the money and her mission is to shine the jewelry. Her husband (career star, hae water) is positioned beneath her money star although their relationship is not so honorable. 2006 was the year of byeong-sul in terms of 60-year cycle. Sul (branch of 2006) and mi (her expression star - her son) clashed and gives her certain penalty. Also, byeong (stem of 2006) took sin (her money star ― month stem) away from her saju by byeong and sin compatibility, which means she had a clash and penalty in her expression stars (her son) and her money (her life) taken away in the year of 2006. Money star also rules the life and health of a person.

Daniel was, without question, the most important person in Anna's life. At the funeral, she even asked not to close the coffin and tried to climb inside. At the very moment, she was ready to go down with him. Mi earth (expression star, her son) is warm and dry earth which would balance her life.

People's life, although they look glamorous on the surface, have their own pain and solitude. Ordinary people live with them, coping with difficulties, sometimes neglecting the pain or sometimes being defeated in the battle.

The combination, assembly, clashing and penalty are the core techniques of saju study as they are the sources to deduce the origin and consequences of events. Once you open a saju, the combination, assembly, clashing and penalty among the stem and branches are the first incidents that draw your attention.

Except for the penalty, the clashing, assembly and combination are not effective when the terrestrial branches are placed apart. Although there are still some argue points about this, it is the most established theory.

In saju study, it is critical how to use the skill of the combination, assembly, clashing and penalty and it determines whether you are a professional or amateur saju reader. And it is a clue to trace all the happenings in your lives.

Let's begin with the stem combinations first.

Five Combinations of celestial stems
