USA Space Shuttle Endeavor Rollout as the Rescue Shuttle During the Hubble Repair MIssion, Kennedy Space Center Florida
Space shuttle Endeavour (STS-127), the rescue shuttle for the space shuttle Atlantis, STS-125 mission, rolled out from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to launch pad 39-B at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, 17 April 2009. Shuttle Atlantis is on an eleven day mission to make repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope where the STS-125 crew of seven astronauts will install two new instruments in Hubble, as well as replace the Fine Guidance Sensor. Five back to back spacewalks will be conducted during the flight. The shuttle Endeavour will be poised ready on the launch pad to pick up the crew of Atlantis in the event that there is damage to shuttle Atlantis during the mission and unable to return to earth.
