Earth Day is celebrated in many countries annually on 22 April to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the earth's environment.
On Earth Day individuals as well as environmental groups around the world take action to enhance political attention, to raise consciousness for environmental issues like pollution problems, global warming and climate change, and to encourage public endeavour for a clean environment. EPA/DSK
